Cities are facing great challenges today with a growing population, ever increasing demand for goods and people transports, resulting in congested and polluted cities. For cities to be attractive, a well-functioning logistics is a prerequisite, but it must be smart and sustainable.
The challenges look similar to cities all over the world, but the solutions will look different depending on the characteristics of the city. Volvo Group, has a great role to play in a future urban logistics system by enabling smarter and more sustainable transport of people and goods on the road, at sea and off road.
Let’s start the morning by listening to Christina Jörgensen Stenman, Product Planning Manager for Vehicle Related Services, who will present how Volvo Group drives change through sustainable and innovative solutions.
Recently Volvo initiated an exciting project in which industry, academia and society will jointly develop and test a system-of-systems in Gothenburg to reduce the number of goods transports to the inner-city area by 40 per cent. Cecilia Haraldsson, Senior Innovation Manager, who are managing the project SMOOTh, will tell us more about this project.
How can engineering and new technology drive solutions towards a more sustainable future? Anna Lindholm, heading Advanced Vehicle Range at Volvo Group, will tell us how Volvo Group are bringing innovations together from new and traditional areas and also investigates in and propose new transport solutions, by looking into the total solution.
Joins us for a breakfast at Volvo Group Headquarters and learn more about how we work with Sustainability through new technologies and transport solutions.
