Your team will be part of our Enterprise Digital organisation, and especially our Product Creation section specifically supporting our Research and Development organisation with Digital services.
What will you do?
You will work with the cutting edge of Autonomous Drive and High Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure. As a senior engineer in the scrum team supporting large-scale Storage and Compute clusters (>100PiB) and CPU/GPU compute nodes, you will ensure that Volvo Cars gets the most value and performance out of the solution as possible.
You will work closely with Autonomous Drive & Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (AD and ADAS) developers and users, supporting in optimizing code and strategies to run in HPC, recommend ways of working, arrange workshops and training sessions, capture requirements, identify solutions, setting up proof of concepts, help manage workloads and other related tasks.
You will also be involved in the continuous improvement and extension of the S&C solutions as well as in the ongoing operations together with our S&C suppliers. The tasks are divided between individual and team-work in an agile setup. It is important that you have an excellent ability to co-operate with customers, suppliers and be a strong team player who see the way for success in collaboration.
You and your skills
To be successful in this position you are a Linux native and fluent in Python, as well as other scripting languages. To solve issues with Java is something natural for you. You have experience from working with HPC technologies and are familiar with tools like Docker / Singularity and Slurm. Knowledge in Git/Gerrit, Artifactory is a merit, as well as Ansible or other infrastructure automation tools.
Preferably you have a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in IT, Computer Science or a similar field and have at least five years of relevant Linux experience. Another five years of experience of HPC administration in an enterprise environment including administration of network, storage, servers and clients is recommended to take on this assignment.
